As many of you know, I work on many system implementation projects for my clients.
Most of them are in the banking and insurance industries.
The face of project management today has completely changed from what it was ten years ago.
If I walk into a large, global banking client today and start talking about Waterfall and the Software Develompent Lifecycle, I’ll get sniggers.
I’m serious – many of my larger clients laugh at the traditional waterfall methods of IT project delivery.
When I start talking Agile and Scrum – my clients’ eyes light up.
The world of Project Management and Business Analyst is moving in tandem for the need for speed.
Speed is absolutely essential in the corporate technology world today.
Business users need continuous business benefits delivered.
They want quick prototypes to validate and not large-scale, multiple year system deliveries that are high risk and may not meet their expectations.
If you’ve not got onboard the Agile Project Management train, I suggest you do so now.
Get used to terms like:
- Product Backlogs, Epics and User Stories
- Product Owner, Scrum Master and Development Team
- Sprint Planning, Retrospective and Velocity
It may help if you attend a course on Agile Scrum.
LinkedIn Learning has a very good (and free) agile course which I suggest you check out immediately.
